Holiday auction ends Monday!
Greetings and salutations, GRIN friends and supporters!
Our winter auction is underway, but you only have a few more days to bid on some spectacular, unique items and help support the Galgos.
The Greyhound Benefit Auction is being hosted by the wonderful people behind
2 Hounds Design. Truly, it has some of the most incredible and unique items that we've ever featured in an auction, and if you pay via PayPal, you'll receive your items before Christmas! The auction is live now, and it runs through December 12, 10 PM Eastern.
Happy bidding, and thank you for your support!
Also, for a limited time, any dollar you donate will be matched thanks to an unprecedented offer from an anonymous couple in Colorado. These generous galgo angels will MATCH each and every monetary donation made to GRIN up to a total of $5,000, meaning we have the opportunity to generate as much as $10,000 to be used to save the lives of many beautiful and deserving hounds!
We honestly cannot tell you how much we appreciate all of you — quite literally, we could not do it without you.
Please consider making a donation during this unique matching period using the PayPal button on our website, and make sure you check out the amazing items in the auction.
Best,
Christopher Plaskett

Auction for Scooby Medina begins tomorrow.
From the Scooby team:
Scooby North America is excited to announce our 2011Auction
Don't miss this fabulous auction to benefit the Spanish Galgos of Scooby!
Over 150 incredible, unique, custom and otherwise awesome items will be featured in this auction hosted by Auctions ala Carte starting Monday, October 3 – please visit Auction to view and bid on these fantastic goodies.
100% of the proceeds will be used to support Scooby Medina who is facing perhaps its greatest challenge ever. The situation at Scooby is absolutely desperate. The shelter is completely full with 500 dogs, and our adoptions have decreased significantly due to the global economic crisis. We urgently need your help to continue to take care of the animals until we can find them homes as well as all those galgos that will be appearing at our door once the used hunting season begins. We are hoping to raise enough money from the auction so that building can begin on a puppy house.
With so many items, there's something for everyone!
A very special thank you to ALL of our donors and supporters for making this possible! Your generosity was overwhelming and very, very appreciated.
This auction begins 12 AM PST on Monday, October 3rd and ends at 11:00 PM PST on Monday, October 10th.
Thank you for your interest, participation and support! The Scooby Team

Scooby Medina in dire need of help
Scooby Medina, the shelter that has become synonymous with galgos and galgo rescue, needs help — immediately.
Recent changes in the region have dramatically reduced funding for the animal sanctuary, and without that income, Scooby will not be able to afford to care for its animals nor will they be able to help any of the dogs, cats or other creatures that would have normally found asylum from hard lives or worse deaths.
Please read the following from Scooby, and if you can help in any way, please do. You may donate to Scooby directly (information follows in the link below) or through GRIN.
Here's the part of the release from Scooby:
PROJECT 3000
Please help us to save Scooby and all its animals!!!
As you might have read, the regional contract for Scooby to take in stray or abandoned dogs from the pounds will not be renewed, which means we have lost 3000 € per month, however the influx of dogs coming to our shelter still remains very high. The loss of these funds makes it very difficult to maintain the level of care and operation at Scooby.
This is why we need your help!
If all of you can donate at least 5 € a month during a whole year, we can save Scooby together and continue all the work we have been doing for the past 25 years. It would be a shame if all our expierence of saving dogs and other animals will be lost due to a financial crisis. What will happen to dogs that will be abandoned when there is no Scooby anymore? All shelters in Spain are dealing with the same situation, they have more dogs than they can handle, so most of these dogs will die an unplesant death since no one is able to take over.
We cannot let that happen!
Project 3000 means finding 600 people who are willing to donate at least 5 € a month.
