Thank you all for your nice comments. Loca is doing really wel here. She is a sweety! and also a rebel. She loves to drag clothges and things into her basket. She doesnt destroy them but nutures them. Maybe it has to do with her having litters of pups, and probably has had the pups dragged away for her?

Little update on Locomia:

Loca is still doing very well although we call her the "trash bin raider".
She was used to having to grab her own food when and where she could get it, and I think she still falls back into that old ritual. We decided to play safe and save our trash bin and the contents, so we bought a new one....a Loca proof one or so we thought. Its a high trash bin with a double closed lid. When you step on the pedal the double lid opens and closes slowly after.

Great we thought, that’s the end of the bin raids but no!!!!!!!!

While we were cooking, Loca would come to the kitchen and lay on the floor watching. We thought she was feeling lonely and looking for attention, but not this clever dog. She was watching how we opened the trash bin with our foot on the pedal.

So, what happens now? When we are not looking or we go out shopping, this clever Podenco puts her foot on the pedal, opens the bin and raids it anyway. Talk about "take you street habits with you " dog

She is a very gentle dog and very quiet in the house. Outside she's more like an English football hooligan wherever the action is, her nose is stuck in it. She tears around the garden here like a nutcase let loose and she is so funny. She plays with the Frisbee and has exploded one of my son’s footballs in seconds.

There is not a day go by that she doesn’t make us laugh. She really is a fantastic dog and we really hope that she will live to be very very old. I can’t imagine not having he around.

Here are a few new pics of Loca. Sorry for a few bad quality ones but they were taken with my cell phone.

I love your update and pictures of Loca...she is amazing and she reminds me so much of my very first dog I rescued in 1991 - a desert hound in Baja California Mexico. No kidding he looked so much like her especially the big ears!! Same coloring..half way across the globe..that must have been an omen that I would be involved with these wonderful hounds for the rest of my life! hahha
keep the stories coming..I love them..

Thanks Telma for your reaction. I had not heard of a dessert hound before? Do you have a photo of him that you can maybe post here? I'd love to see him.

greetings Hil
