Senora is a wonderful, spunky gal who was overlooked at Scooby for quite some time. Her sweet face captured the hearts of the G.R.I.N. rescuers, though, and Senora was flown to the US in February 2007. She was adopted in Colorado by a loving mom who is a supporter of Scooby and has worked tirelessly for many years to provide medical supplies to the Spanish shelters.

Little is known about Elly prior to her Scooby days. She was rescued from a poorly-run sanctuary in Valladolid along with a great many other galgos. After arriving at Scooby it became apparent that she was not cut out for shelter life - for some reason the other dogs picked on her unmercifully! So she was chosen to take the fast track to the US where she was adopted by a wonderful family in Washington. Other than the pesky habit of eating stuffed animals, Elly is the perfect girl!
No one knows why Sweetie was overlooked for so long, but for some reason she spent two years at Scooby waiting for her forever home. In February 2007, Sweetie was chosen to make the trip to the US, where she immediately found and fell in love with her new family - which includes Vigo!
Ramon was rescued (along with his brother Amistad and mother Ramona) from a warehouse in Spain where they had been left to starve. Amistad came to the US in October 2006, and so quickly won the hearts of everyone here that we knew Ramon had to come to the US, too. In February 2007, Ramon and five other lucky galgos arrived in Denver, Colorado. Originally, Ramon was scheduled to go to California to reunite with his brother, but he found his very loving forever home before the transfer could be made!
Vigo and his sister Paloma were rescued by Scooby workers along with their other littermates after they were orphaned in Spain. Sadly, the two are the only survivors of their litter. Vigo and Paloma came to the US in October 2006. Vigo was adopted by a very loving family in Colorado and shares his home with a number of other rescued dogs, including another Scooby galgo, Sweetie.
Paloma is a beautiful galga puppy who came to the US when she was just 12 weeks old. She and her brother, Vigo (also in the US), were brought to Scooby after being orphaned. A tough little pair, Paloma and Vigo were the only survivors of their litter. Paloma and Vigo flew to the US together in the same crate, and it was painful for everyone to seperate the pair, but they have both been adopted and have wonderful homes. Paloma was adopted by a great supporter of greyhounds and galgos, and Abby flew with her (in a carry-on container this time!) to her new home in Tennessee in October 2006.
Maribel is a darling little galgo who Abby and Crystal both fell in love with the moment they saw her. She has a sunny disposition and is absolutely beautiful. Crystal's heart was nearly broken when she discovered how much it would cost to fly her on her scheduled Continental flight back to Canada - far too much to afford. But as luck and fate would have it, the complications with Abby's flight from Madrid sent Crystal to Denver the next day with the remaining galgos - enabling her to switch her ticket and take Maribel to her new forever home!
Esparanza is a sweet but shy little wirehair galgo. Little is known about her before she came to Scooby. Her sweet disposition earned her a spot on the plane to the US where she was immediately placed into a loving home in Denver, Colorado.
Feana is an Irish greyhound who was brought to Scooby after the closure of the Barcelona racetrack early in 2006. She is a delightful fawn brindle who grins whenever she is approached! She is not cat safe but does well with other dogs and children. Her sunny, bright personality earned her the name "Sol", meaning sun while at Scooby. She was adopted by a wonderful family in Colorado. Her name was changed to Feana - an Irish name symbolizing strength.
Fermina is a slightly older girl and has a great sense of dignity about her. Abby met her at Scooby when she was brought in to be spayed. Her surgery was uneventful, but later that night it was discovered that she was bleeding profusely internally. A second surgery was performed after stabilizing her (she had lost a great deal of blood and was in grave danger). She survived the second surgery and earned her name, "Fermina", meaning strong, survivor.
