Supplies for Galgos 112

Christopher Plaskett September 8, 2011

G.R.I.N is happy  that we  were able to quickly take advantage of the notice that Rachel Orlyk of Galgos 112 Sevilla was coming to the states for a visit. We pooled some resources together for her to take back. She had specifically asked for muzzles, and our friends at Homestretch Greyhound Rescue in Fillmore CA responded immediately along with Dr. Herman, a vet and Galgo owner in Colorado who supplied a nice catche of the meds. Thanks go to our donors for the collars and leashes that were also included as well as the donations for shipping them to her in the U.S.
This is what Rachel says:

Hi Judy and Telma, the rest of the GRIN crew and Dr. Mike!

I dropped off the supplies on Sunday to Marité and here is a pic she got with my camera. She had already changed out of the Galgos112 tshirt when I tried to get a photo of her so I don't have one. But she did take pictures with her camera and I have seen them on the Galgos112 facebook page.  MIL GRACIAS again for sending your love and support to our sweet galgos.  I am looking forward to dealing with your wonderful association again in the future. Please let me know if I can help in any way.

 Rachel

Galgo Rescue International Network

Galgo Rescue International Network

Dedicated to the welfare of the Spanish Galgo and Sighthounds worldwide.

Galgo Rescue International Network (GRIN) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal welfare organization run entirely by volunteers that was founded to establish a relationship between the animal shelters in Spain and animal lovers in the United States and around the world.  Our love of Greyhounds and concern for their plight drew us to their cousins — the galgos.

Working closely with Spanish shelters, GRIN raises awareness of the Spanish Greyhound's plight through international educational campaigns and fundraising.  We also aid shelters and assist with adoptions for rehomed sighthounds in the U.S. with the primary goals being to provide practical help and supplies to the Spanish shelters and to inspire change in the treatment of the Galgo Espnaõl and the Podenco through public informational and educational campaigns.
